SEC Signworks is holding an Open Day to celebrate its recent merger with Canterbury firm Gordon Engraving which has created a major new provider of business signage in Kent. Gordon Engraving is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Jamie Thomson, director of SEC Signworks, says: “This Open Day will offer an interesting insight into the world of sign making. Participants will be able to watch the experts at work whilst they carry out processes such as acrylic fabrication, heat bending, commercial engraving, laser cutting and much more. It will be a fascinating glimpse behind the scenes.”
William Gunther from Gordon Engraving is very positive about the firm’s future. He says: “There are exciting times ahead for our new venture. We are delighted to be celebrating our 50th anniversary by commemorating the past whilst also embracing our future.”
The Open Day will also be raising funds for two charities, Macmillan Crossroads and the Martha Trust, by selling Perspex coasters created by Gordon Engraving.
The day will consist of 3 factory tours combined with presentations, demonstrations of acrylic fabrication, heat bending, flame polishing, diamond polishing, commercial engraving, laser profile cutting, point of sale displays, Magnetherm secondary glazing system and signage (of course).
And very importantly there will be champagne, nibbles & networking!
The Open Day will be held on 29th March at Gordon Engraving’s premises at 18 Roper Close, Canterbury, CT2 7EP. There will be three optional time slots:
- 10.30am to 12.00 noon

- 02.30pm to 4.00pm
Please email Jamie confirming which slot you’d like to attend email@example.com
